Golf- friend or foe?
I love to hypnotize golfers.
I can fix their problems fast, they are really motivated, and they worship the ground I walk on.
I especially like that last part. ;)

If all the things I do, golf is probably the topic that shows the most immediate results.

Here are some quick tips to get your mind game out of the gutter and create a powerful and accurate drive.

1. Imagine (with your eyes closed, while in a relaxed state) that you are on the tee, feel the breeze, imagine looking at the ball, see the green, feel the grip of the club in your hands.

2. Remember a time when you were driving the ball with accuracy. Recall where you were, how you felt, what the weather was like that day, who you were with.

3. Take a deep breath, relax your body and your mind. Feel it, just as you did on that day, with your mind and body in that zone. The more details you remember and create, the more likely your body will be to recreate this state.

4. Get ready to take your swing. Before you do, find the spot on the green where the ball will land. Imagine you can zoom in on it from where you stand, and chose the exact spot where you want the ball to land.

5. Take your swing in very slow motion, feel the ease and tempo and follow-through. Very, very slow.

6. Hear and see the ball landing on that spot on the green.

7. Get another ball on the tee, take the swing in real time. See it land on that spot you chose.
Repeat several times.

8. Breathe, relax, notice a word or phrase that supports the feeling you have right NOW. Use words that contain the entire experience.

9. Later today, when you are on the driving range, repeat this sequence while standing. When you are ready to hit the ball, repeat the phrase, as an anchor that puts you back in the zone.

10. Get out there and use it everytime before you drive it off the tee. Anchors in your subconscious mind can reset a bad swing, or repair a bad game almost instantly.

I will be with many of you in our Radical Recovery Seminar this weekend.

Dear Wendi,

STARTING DAY 7: I am impressed with this program. I am keeping the commitment to myself and listening to the CD's. Even though I PROMISED myself I could drink for the first week, I find I simply do not have the desire. Last night I even went to a friend’s house for a Cinco De Mayo celebration and did not drink.

Oddly, I gave myself permission to have 1 or 2 (heck, I gave myself permission to get plastered if I really wanted to - after all, I'm still in the first week and the excuses/reasons go on and on).

However, I found myself saying no when offered a drink. My friends even tried to tempt (not pressure) me with some creative mixtures but I still said no when asked. I was a little surprised myself.

I could down a bottle of wine or more every week night. I had a pretty good trick, I would buy those little bottles of wine that come in a 4 pack then be able to tell myself and anyone watching that it was just a LITTLE bottle of wine. I think 4-5 of them add up to quite a bit. Of course, weekends were reserved for Rum or Vodka because you can mix fruit juice with them and get healthy! What a hoot!

Starting this program I thought Week 1 would be a breeze and it was. I also thought I would continue to drink in this "no pressure" week . . . but I did not.
