Thank you so much for this program Wendi, I have had an amazing release of fear, anger, resentment, victimhood, people-pleasing, "martyr", and blaming…and a huge connection with self-confidence, self-love, freedom from the past, and my own sense of worth, or worthiness in this world….I am not a soldier, I was raised by an Angry Marine and married an Army soldier, so the military has been a big influence in my life – the constant moving every few years, the inability to have a long-term neighborhood and community of face-to-face friends, caused me to feel disconnected…the pain and abuse from childhood left me feeling unworthy, inadequate, and depressed. I felt I could never measure up to Dad's perfectionist standards, was taught that "ladies don't get angry" and spiraled into depression for most of my 20s and 30s, self-medicated with alcohol for awhile then got some counseling, which helped me learn some coping skills, but the feelings were still there – You have changed that and I am forever grateful! The parental dynamic between my parents is no longer an issue for me! I love them both and know they did the best they could with inadequate comprehension and understanding, from who they both were, at that time in all our lives. As a result, my relationship with my husband is better than ever and I feel only love for all my parents' efforts on my behalf – their "you're too sensitive" child…I look back at the hell my father lived through with 2 tours of 'Nam and one in Korea, and I know the military was poorly equipped to address emotional healing for the mental and emotional destruction of those who physically survived. The support systems now in place for military spouses were non-existent as my mother tried to parent 4 children and hold it all together in my father's absence, by age 16 I had spent half my life without my dad. Now I am reconnected to myself, free of abandonment issues, and feeling whole! I am so blessed! Thank you again! Love, Linda

BTW, I referred the program to Dad, and he is going to share the information at the VA hospital and retired officers club where he lives…I hope he sneaks a peek at it himself!

Hi Linda,

Wow, what a life change you have experienced! Thank you for sharing this, I am sure it will give people a good idea of what they can do to alleviate the PTSD even if they have it from being in a family of military. You are a victim of the effects of a parent with PTSD.

So wonderful to hear your story.

Let's stay in touch!
